What is the theory test format and pass mark?

The car theory test has 40 multiple-choice questions and lasts 45 minutes. You need 35 correct to pass (87.5%). On the real test you can skip questions, flag them, review your answers and finish early. The full mock test here uses the same number of questions and the same time limit.

How do I book the real test?

Book at theorytest.ie, where the official booking and test information lives. Fees change, so check the current price there.

Is my progress saved?

If you are signed in, your answers, mistakes, streaks and starred questions are saved to your account and follow you between devices. Without an account, TheoryPrep only remembers a few things on your device, such as your theme, exam date and flashcard progress.
